Technology Ventures Corporation

Technology Ventures Corporation helps startup companies that are developing technology from the national laboratories.  Additionally, TVC looks to research universities for commercialization opportunities. Their goal is to increase employment opportunities and wealth in the technology industry.

There are two groups that benefit from TVC’s efforts—entrepreneurs and investors. TVC helps entrepreneurs strengthen their business case and prepare to raise funding from equity investors. Center for Commercialization and Entrepreneurial Training Seminars

Seminars are held in Albuquerque NM area. The workshops are free of charge but participants are asked to register with the site (phone numbers below). CCET is the education/training arm of Technology Ventures Corporation, in partnership with the Department of Energy.

  • Entering the Entrepreneurial World  Introduces the participant to the services of TVC, commercializing a technology-based product, analyzing the business and financial potential of a product and exploring the organization and legal alternatives.
  • Market Research and the Marketing Plan  Deals with the effort to determine the market potential of a product, understanding the dynamics in the marketplace, forecasting sales and revenue and producing a marketing plan.
  • Financial Management  Explores raising capital, understanding and using financial statements, preparing budget projections and proforma financial statements, dealing with tax issues and applications, and company valuation.
  • Preparing and Presenting the Business Plan Takes the entrepreneur step by step through the process of developing and writing a business plan directed toward achieving equity financing for his or her innovation and company.
  • Operations Startup, Monitoring and Human Resources  Describes the business organization development process, essential legal, accounting, taxation and record keeping processes.
  • Attracting Equity Investors and Lessons Learned  Discusses the developing relationships with investors, intellectual property, securities issues and term sheets.
